WHS Wellness Room: NEB Gives Back Campaign

The Woonsocket Education Department has committed to implementing a restorative, culturally responsive, non-violent, and trauma-informed Tier 1 framework for positive behavioral and mental health supports district-wide. As part of this goal, Woonsocket High School has identified a room that would serve as a Wellness Room where all students would be able to use the space for individual de-escalation and self-regulation; student check-ins with adults; and non-violent restorative circles facilitated by students and/or staff.

With guidance from Lenape Regional High School (which has previously had great success with establishing such a space), commitment from community partners, and support from people like YOU; WHS students can look forward to a calming safe space, intentionally designed, decorated, staffed, and stocked with tools and people to help support their development into well-rounded productive members of the community. All proceeds from this Giving Tuesday Campaign will go to purchasing materials to build, decorate, furnish, and supply the Wellness Room. Any funds leftover will be utilized for additional Wellness Rooms in schools across the district.
