Elliott's sudden delivery at 30 weeks and his first 6 weeks of life were the scariest moments for Matt and I. While our NICU journey started abruptly and unexpectedly, our stay was actually fairly simple and uncomplicated. We have always considered ourselves very blessed for how our story unfolded as many do not have the same journey. In honor of Elliott and all the other brave NICU babies, we will be participating in a fundraiser walk/5K to help raise money for Project NICU! Project NICU is a nonprofit organization that offers connection, support and community to all involved in the NICU Journey. From NICU care packages, peer support, events and more, they are there every step of the way. Led by NICU Parents, their programs are designed with first hand experience with support by NICU medical professionals on the advisory board to truly create an environment where families and NICU Teams can feel supported.
