This August 25th will mark 8 years since we lost our precious Jour'nee. Her passing in 2016 was a tragedy that impacted our entire family. Jour'nee was such a fighter - born 27 weeks premature, she battled through 9 surgeries during her 3 months in the NICU, and continued to amaze us with her resilience and joy.
Just a few years later, my sister Mycheale found the strength to try again, and was blessed with another premature miracle, her daughter Réghaan. Réghaan also defied the odds and came home healthy - a true testament to the power of hope and perseverance in the face of unimaginable challenge.
That's why, on the anniversary of Jour'nee's passing, I'll be participating in the annual Wishing Flower Walk to raise funds and awareness for Project NICU. I'm walking to honor Jour'nee's memory, celebrate Réghaan's triumph, and support other families going through the NICU journey, just as my sister did.
Through my clothing brand, The Jour'nee Continues, I'm committed to empowering NICU parents and keeping Jour'nee's light shining. But I can't do it alone. I'm asking you to join my team for the walk or make a donation. Every step, every flower placed, and every dollar raised will make a difference for families facing their own battles.
Jour'nee may be gone, but she will never be forgotten. Help me ensure her spirit lives on by being part of this meaningful event. I know she'll be smiling down, proud of the difference we're making together.
