The Westminster Chorus is the 2009 ‘Choir of the World’ Pavarotti Trophy winner and the International Chorus Gold Medalist of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 2007, 2010, 2015, 2019 and 2024. Uniquely composed of young and committed singers, the chorus in its current organization formed in 2002.

Under the direction of Dr. Dan Wessler, we are the performance and competition chorus of the Westminster, California Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS).

Our mission: To preserve and advance the Barbershop art form, while providing and encouraging an inclusive community for youth in Southern California and around the world to engage in lifelong singing, music, and artistic expression.

Thanks to a number of generous founding members and original Westminster donors, committed board stewardship, and determined core members, Westminster survived a global pandemic when so many choral and arts organizations in SoCal were forced to shut down. We've come out of it stronger and more inspired than ever to share barbershop!

2023 was a strategic building and re-building year, with a very successful Westminster Live! Spring show in May 2023, the return of a treasured Westminster tradition, our quartet contest Hootenanny, an exciting Far Western District championship in October 2023, and a truly zany time-traveling Westminster Saves Xmas IV: The First Xmas (Not THAT first Xmas, a Different first Xmas) show December 2023.

2024 so far has been PACKED with excitement as we launched into putting on our SOLD OUT Westminster Live! Spring show and best attended Livestream to date in June all the while learning and polishing two inspiring and spectacular new arrangements as we return to the BHS International Convention contest stage in Cleveland, Ohio in July!
