Unimaginable sorrow inspired Chezik Tsunoda to turn grief into a force for good.

In 2019, she founded No More Under, a nonprofit providing free swimming lessons and water safety education for under-resourced families. Today, alongside partners like the YMCA of Greater Seattle, many Parks and Recreation divisions, and university swim teams around the country, No More Under is helping under-resourced, and Black and brown families build confidence, joy, and safety in the water.

Since our beginning, No More Under has supported more than 15,000 free swim lessons, providing more than 3,000 children with life-changing experiences. However, we have more than 2,000 families on our waitlist. The need is dire.

This May, during Water Safety Month, and especially on May 15 for Water Safety Day, we invite you to help protect children before summer begins.

Because water should mean laughter, cannonballs, beach days, and fun in the sun — not preventable tragedy.

Drowning is the #1 cause of death for children ages 1–4, and it often happens quietly, in seconds. Too many children slip beneath the surface of pools before anyone realizes they are in danger. And 64% of Black children have little or no swimming ability, putting them at even greater risk.

We can change that.

Your donation supports water safety education, swim access, scholarships, and drowning prevention resources for families who need them most. Our goal is to serve 150 kids this summer. $100 will sponsor a child through swim lessons, changing their life forever.
