It is our belief that peaceful, evidence-based care should not be a privilege for those who can afford it. The kind of care that focuses on the individual person and honors them as a knowing participant in their pregnancy, labor and birth journey is the right of all birthing people.

We are working to make it possible for anyone who is wishing to birth with the support of a doula in Arizona to do so. If someone cannot afford to pay for a doula, then they can apply to the Willow Wish Grant Program to help make their supported birth dream come true.

We recognize that our Doula Grant ($750) covers the bare minimum for doula care: one prenatal visit, 24/7 tech support through pregnancy, support through the birth journey, and one postpartum visit. As the cost of living continues to rise, we would like to increase our Doula Grant award to honor all the work that and training that allow doulas to offer evidence-based support.
