DPPN Wayfinding Project: Double-Sided Banner Sponsorship

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Downtown Providence Park Wayfinding Project—an exciting initiative designed to enhance the vibrancy, connectivity, and accessibility of our city’s core. Thanks to a generous grant from Commerce RI and in collaboration with the City of Providence and our downtown partners, this project will transform our public spaces with eye-catching colorful banners and improved navigation tools.

Stretching from the Point Street Bridge to Waterplace Park and extending through Biltmore Park, Burnside Park, and Kennedy Plaza, these enhancements will give downtown Providence a fresh, engaging look while helping residents and visitors better explore the city.

The project will roll out in three phases:

Spring 2025: Installation of Double-sided Banners
Summer 2025: Digital Wayfinding and Signage
Fall 2025: Temporary Traffic Mitigation

Banners will adorn the downtown Providence parks, serving both as navigational tools and reflections of Providence’s rich cultural and historical heritage. QR codes on banners will provide easy access to interactive maps, event schedules, cultural insights, and directories for nearby businesses and restaurants.

Wayfinding Goals:

Visual Cohesion: Highlight significant cultural, historical, and environmental points of interest, creating a unified and vibrant experience throughout the downtown park network.
Celebrating Local Stories: Interpretive signage will showcase the diverse voices and stories that define Providence’s unique heritage.
Pedestrian Safety: Improve safety at high-risk intersections with temporary features like painted curb bump-outs, planters, and street art, serving as prototypes for permanent solutions.
Digital & Physical Integration: Combine digital and physical wayfinding elements, with QR codes offering interactive maps and real-time information, enhancing the user experience.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we invite local businesses to sponsor a banner and become a part of this exciting Wayfinding project. Your tax-deductible sponsorship will not only enhance your brand’s visibility but also support the programs and events that make our downtown a vibrant and welcoming community.

Sponsorship Details:

Sponsorship Levels:

$5,000 for a one-year banner sponsorship
$12,000 for a three-year sponsorship (save $3,000)

High Visibility- Your business logo will be prominently displayed on both sides of the light-pole banners, offering excellent visibility to the thousands of commuters and pedestrians who pass through downtown daily.

40,000 - 50,000 people daily

Banner Placement- Your banner, featuring your business logo and name, will be installed in key locations across the Downtown Providence Parks, including the Point Street Bridge, Riverwalk, Memorial Park, Market Square, Waterplace Park, Biltmore Park, Burnside Park, and Kennedy Plaza.

Recognition- As a valued sponsor, your business will be acknowledged on our website and in all related project communications, showcasing your commitment to the community.
