Introduce a Girl to Engineering | Spelman Fundraiser
Divaneering Impact Lab, in collaboration with Legacy 360 and Byrd’s Eye View Media, is raising $20,000 to support a dual-impact, time-bound initiative that advances equity, innovation, and workforce exposure for girls in Baltimore City.
This funding will support:
1) STEMinist Summit Student Ambassador Pilot (Atlanta, GA)
A small cohort of high-school girls will participate in the 2026 STEMinist Summit at Spelman College as student ambassadors and market researchers, engaging directly with innovation, entrepreneurship, and emerging beauty-technology. This experience is designed as a workforce-focused learning opportunity, not a traditional field trip.
Through this pilot, students will:
Build confidence in public speaking and professional communication
Learn how innovation moves from idea to market
Engage with college faculty, industry leaders, and STEM professionals
Gain exposure to careers at the intersection of beauty, engineering, and technology
2) Divaneering STEM & Innovation Day — February 28, 2026
Funds will also support the participation of 48 girls in Divaneering STEM & Innovation Day, hosted in celebration of Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, a globally recognized initiative encouraging girls to explore engineering and technical careers.
This immersive, station-based experience will introduce participants to culturally relevant STEM challenges spanning engineering, design, innovation, and creative technology—reinforcing confidence, curiosity, and career awareness.
Use of Funds
Contributions will support:
Student travel, lodging, transportation, uniforms and supervision
Pre-experience training and preparation
Hands-on programming and materials
Event production and facilitation
Documentation, storytelling, and post-experience reporting
Together, these activities serve as a proof of concept for a scalable model that connects Baltimore City girls—particularly those in cosmetology and creative pathways—to STEM, innovation, and future workforce opportunities.
All donations are processed through our fiscal sponsor, Joynt Production Network (JPN), and donors will receive appropriate documentation directly through the Givebutter platform.
Thank you for investing in experiences that make engineering, innovation, and leadership visible, accessible, and relevant for the next generation of girls.
