HIPPO Life is a non-profit organization based in Hollywood that helps our community heal through the arts. Utilizing top industry experts, HIPPO Life not only provides performing arts education, but does so in a healing space allowing participants to express themselves through the arts. Most recently, we partnered with the group, From the Streets to the Set, to provide hands-on acting workshops for underrepresented individuals.

Why HIPPOS?

Hippos only move forward. They can't move backwards or side to side. Our founder, Anthony Gilardi, took this as a metaphor during a challenging time in his life when his only choice was to KEEP MOVING FORWARD. Now, he teaches his students to do the same.

Our Current Need

In early January 2025, multiple wildfires ravaged Los Angeles County, namely the communities of Altadena and the Pacific Palisades. The community jumped into action providing immediate support to those affected. But there is still work to be done. The families affected endured a severe traumatic event and while the support of physical needs has been astounding, what about the ongoing emotional support for these families?

Around 200,000 people were forced to evacuate their homes while firefighters battled the fires and tens of thousands of people are now grieving the loss of their homes, communities, belongings, and sense of security and safety. This is why HIPPO Life is providing a 6-week Grief & Loss Supportive Arts Group to victims of the Los Angeles Wildfires. Los Angeles is a place where artists come from all over the world so it is only fitting that we provide our own community with the opportunity to learn, heal, and grow through the arts.

Our Program Costs

HIPPO Life understands the burdens families are facing trying to rebuild their lives following the fires. That's why we need YOUR support to cover the program costs, so that families can join our group at no cost to them.

We are seeking $5,000 to cover the cost of 20 program participants.

$250 will support the cost of one participant
$1,000 will support the cost of a family of four

But, any amount of support will help us reach our goal!
