The Panadero Ski Corporation, a 501c3 non-profit and operator of Cuchara Mountain Park is kicking off a fundraising campaign to expand snowmaking to at least half of the runs in the park! While Lift 4 is not certified for the public, and we're still working on that, snowmaking is just as critical to returning skiing to Cuchara after over 20 years.

Whether we are skiing via the CMP Ski Bus (aka sled) like we did last winter, or when Lift 4 can carry passengers again, we need reliable snow to ski on and ensure we can be open as much as possible from Christmas until the end of March. WE NEED SNOWMAKING TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

We are lucky to have an anonymous donor offer to match donations up to $10,000. So IF we can reach $10,000 in donations that will be MATCHED to make a $20,000 IMPACT!!!!

Overall our goal is to raise $46,000 for everything needed to provide snowmaking to at least half the runs at Cuchara Mountain Park. The breakdown of these costs is as follows:

$18000 for 1200 ft of new pipe delivered to the mountain this would be for replacing old pipe rotted by the snowmaking pond to the base - this will allow the system to hold pressure and pump water uphill to provide snowmaking all the way to the top of Lift 4 on at least half of the runs.
$6000 for pipe fittings to connect the new pipe to old and some new valves
$4500 for the outlets for the electricity we installed last year thanks to Tom whites donation of wire which would finish that project
$2500 for two used snow guns out of Washington to add to our fleet of old snowguns
$25000 to purchase or at least start making payments on brand new, highly efficient SMI snow gun we have lent to us for a demo for the 2023/24 season

In total this is $56,000 but thanks again to our matching donor $10k will be covered! So we only need to raise $46k from the public. Any amount will make a difference and all donations are TAX DEDUCTABLE!

This new snow gun (currenlty on a demo loan to us) is an SMI, fully automatic with on-board weather station so it adjusts to as needed and Jeremy doesn't have to be up all night to monitor the snow guns. It is also very effcient than the older guns making up to 3x as much snow.
