Hear the varied and fascinating perspectives of Nichole's rescue mission. Three trauma nurses (including Nichole, the patient) endured 4 agonizing hours of desperation prior to help arriving. The members of the SAR team worked side by side with the nurses in the field as they implemented the multitude of layered and complex strategies needed to complete a successful rescue in immensely challenging terrain. It's a rare opportunity to be able to hear from the rescuers and rescuee...you won't want to miss this!
Story
The WHERE THE ROPE ENDS team has been working hard for 6 years to get the film out into the world and have the following impact:
With your support, we can continue these efforts, bring this opportunity to Search and Rescue, and support these amazing volunteers to continue selflessly caring for our communities.
Although the majority of our project has been all volunteers, films still cost a lot of money to make! We will be kicking off several more live discussions and opportunities to donate, as we try to reach our fundraising goal of $70,000.
In 2017, Nichole Doane fell 60-feet onto a rock ledge while canyoneering at Wallace Falls. She laid there for four hours until Search and Rescue assisted in her airlift to the very hospital where she worked as a trauma nurse. While enduring a shattered pelvis, a broken back, and a spinal cord injury, she recalls the fall as the greatest moment of her life. WHERE THE ROPE ENDS explores the natural human drive to want more, and the reaction when everything you had that defined you is taken away.
