We would like to invite you to support a worthy cause by sponsoring our upcoming fundraiser, Wild Cards for CASA: Poker Run, taking place on Saturday, October 4^th, 2025, spanning Anderson, Coffey, Franklin and Osage Counties. This event aims to raise funds for our program, allowing us to continue providing CASA advocacy to children living in our four county service area who’ve been removed from their homes and placed in foster care due to abuse and/or neglect.

Why is CASA advocacy so important? Because is truly makes an impact on the children who receive it. Court Appointed Special Advocacy is a nationally recognized, research-based best practice that has MANY positive proven outcomes for children. For example, children in foster care who have a CASA volunteer are more likely to:

Spend less time in foster care. In fact, children with a CASA volunteer spend an average of 8 months LESS time in foster care.
Be adopted. Volunteers are trained to help find potential adoptive sources that the state might overlook.
Not be re-abused while in foster care. Volunteers meet with their children once a month, minimum, taking special care to assess their safety. If they have any concerns at all, those concerns are immediately reported.
Have a plan for permanency. Our volunteers are very involved with case planning for their appointed children, making sure that the state is making progress and moving forward and preventing children from falling.
Receive more services. Our volunteers bring the needs of these children to the attention of the court.
Do better in school. Volunteers prevent unnecessary placement moves, resulting in children staying at one school.
Report significantly higher levels of hope. This is our favorite outcome of all.
