Washingtonville High School's chapter of the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) seeks to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in the visual arts. The goals of our chapter are to organize, participate in, and support art-related events/fundraisers within our school and community that promote creativity, inclusivity, and a love of the visual arts. Since 2016 NAHS has held an annual fundraiser to support the Country Kids Food Pantry of Washingtonville, NY and we have raised over $17,500 to help local families in need. Given the challenging circumstances surrounding the 2020-21 school year we have designed a virtual fundraiser so we may continue to support our local food pantry with the creation of one of a kind artwork by our talented NAHS members. This year's PET PORTRAITS FOR THE PANTRY fundraiser will allow participants to make a monetary donation in exchange for the creation of a customized portrait of their beloved pet(s) based off a photograph. All donations will go to the Country Kids Food Pantry of Washingtonville, NY. The pantry serves food to low income families in the Washingtonville School District area and surrounding communities. They also serve pet food to clients who have dogs and cats.
