About World Gorilla Day

World Gorilla Day is an annual event celebrated on September 24th to raise awareness about gorilla conservation and the threats they face. The day commemorates the anniversary of Dian Fossey's founding of the Karisoke Research Center in 1967, a pivotal moment in the study and protection of gorillas. The goal is to encourage global action to protect these endangered animals and highlight the importance of their conservation.
