Since we moved into our first home in Sun Prairie over 17 years ago, we have been decorating the outside of it for Christmas. Each year, it has grown bigger and brighter. For the past six years, the City of Sun Prairie has held an annual Holiday Light Decorating Contest. Due to the contest and the growing number of lights on our home, we have noticed more and more people stopping by and enjoying the lights. Each year, the number of people seems to grow. That’s when the “light bulb went off” for real. Why not try to raise money for a good cause? Why not give back?  So many people enjoy our lights this time of year, maybe they might give a little, too.    

For several years now, our son has enjoyed Easterseals Wisconsin camps. For the first couple of years, it was Respite weekend camps and then this summer Camp Wawbeek, the weeklong camp. The camps have been such a wonderful experience for our son and our family. Can’t say enough positive things about Easterseals! The individuals working and volunteering at the camps are truly amazing. Simply remarkable! Our son always has the biggest smile on his face when talking about camp.   

So now it’s our time to try to help. We hope people enjoy the holiday lights, maybe learn a little something about an awesome organization, and hopefully give a little.
