CYA 20 years

In 2025, Community Youth Advance (CYA) proudly celebrates 20 years of empowering and transforming the lives of youth across Prince George’s County and Washington, D.C. Since our establishment in 2005, CYA has harnessed the power of community to Teach, Reach, and Keep youth on the path to success. Over the last two decades, we have served more than 2,000 students, providing the academic support, mentorship, and enrichment opportunities they need to excel in school and beyond.

At CYA, we believe in the limitless potential of every child. Through our extended-day learning programs, one-on-one mentoring, and STEAM-based summer experiences, we have equipped students in grades 6–12 with the tools to thrive. Whether through educational support, professional development training, or SAT/ACT preparation, we have worked to ensure our young people are not only ready for high school achievement but also prepared for post-secondary success.

Our programs span the school year, weekends, and summer months, bridging critical gaps in education and youth development. From improving academic performance and building self-confidence to fostering leadership skills and career readiness, our work would not be possible without the unwavering support of our community partners.

As we reflect on the past 20 years, we celebrate the thousands of lives we have touched and the countless success stories that inspire us every day. CYA remains committed to providing transformative opportunities for youth across Prince George’s County and Washington, D.C., ensuring that every student has access to the tools they need to build a bright and promising future.
