On March 3, 2022 GRM’s Rapid Response Team responded to the invasion of Ukraine, spending more than six months providing front line surgical teams, medevac services and training for more than 1,800 clinicians. In 2023, GRM was invited by Ukraine’s Center for Disaster Medicine and WHO to conduct a year-long trauma fellowship for Ukrainian physician cohorts to increase expertise in initial resuscitation of traumatic injuries and emergency cases, and to review and adapt national protocols for acute management of injuries including burns and primary surgery.
