While the heroic, exciting and often risky active-rescue stories are a main part of Peaceful Acres Horses' mission in years past, providing long-term care for the rescued horses, minis, mules and donkeys is a huge part of our mission now. When we said "yes" to being their rescuers, that meant that for the many equines who for a variety of reasons, are not a good fit for adoption, Peaceful Acres is their forever home. We provide a safe equine welfare sanctuary for them and share their companionship and unique abilities to help with the people that love, support and participate in programs here at Peaceful Acres. Through our strong community of generous supporters, we were able to end 2024 and start 2025 with saving several equines that were moments away from stepping hoof on a slaughter shipment trailer.
