ABOUT QUEENS ARISE:
Did you know that 70% of Human Trafficking survivors do not have a stable income and fall under the poverty line within two years of escape? Typically, after a survivor finds an exit from Human Trafficking, they are initially provided with a recovery program. However, what happens once the survivor has finished their programs and is ready to begin living independently?
Many struggle to find consistent employment with a livable wage and safe conditions due to gaps in their resume, lack of education, or a record, all of which are often direct results of their trafficking situation. These incredibly brave individuals, who have overcome such horrible conditions, are then forced to struggle every day to provide for their families. Some even feel that they have no other choice than to re-enter their trafficking situation.
The Queens are working tirelessly to help bridge this gap.
Queens Arise is a network for professional women that offers an educational program and mentorship to Human Trafficking survivors, empowering them toward lifelong financial stability.
Since we began our journey as a nonprofit in 2022, we have trained and mentored 21 human trafficking survivors through our scholarship program. As part of the original program, we equipped our survivors with essential professional tools, including new computers, reliable wifi, desks, chairs, and headsets. We conducted weekly meetings with industry experts focused on key areas like job readiness, resumé building, critical thinking, and mental health. This comprehensive support ensured that every survivor not only gained knowledge but also developed the confidence and skills necessary to secure stable employment.
As our program has grown, we have expanded our educational offerings to better match our students’ needs and interests.
Our program now offers broad educational and vocational training in addition to our expansive business networks. The program includes the following three stages:
Graduates of Queens Arise have gone on to secure full-time roles in high-demand professions. Some work directly with our program or our hiring partners, while others have independently launched careers.
We need your help to enroll more survivors and continue to provide them with the education, mentorship, and essential equipment they need, ensuring that every student has a chance to find full-time employment leading to financial independence and sustainable careers.
With your monthly support or one-time donation, you can help us provide more scholarships to Human Trafficking survivors interested in pursuing a career. As our organization grows, we aim to help more and more survivors find economic independence and safety in the lives of these courageous women.
We are so humbled and thankful to have received the level of support that has allowed us to truly make a difference in the lives of these amazing ladies. It is our greatest hope and wish to continue expanding so that we may help 100% of Human Trafficking survivors have a stable income and never fall under the poverty line after their escape.
Every contribution makes an impact, and we are so grateful to have such a fantastic, encouraging community!
