Hello, my name is Eli Gross, and I have been lucky enough to be working with the Jewish Teen Foundation raising money to support a non-profit of our choice. Over the last 9 months, 36 Jewish teens including myself, have gathered to research non-profits that align with our self-determined core values, loving kindness, justice, and responsibility. In my group, we chose to look for non-profits that focus on homelessness, while maintaining strong Jewish roots. In the last couple of meetings, we have completed in-person site visits, to better assess our understanding of our chosen organization's impact on our community. Our goal is to create positive change in the San Diego community and beyond through philanthropy. This experience has been extremely valuable for me, learning how to communicate with others, come to a consensus, and gain a better understanding of the importance, and need for philanthropy in our communities.
