Hola, we are Patty and Paloma and we are second year students at Smith College's MSW (Masters in Social Work) program. This upcoming year we intend to attend the Latino Social Worker Organization conference that will be held in Oaxaca. We have submitted a proposal to present at the conference and are waiting to receive confirmation that we have been approved. The theme of the conference will be "Como es que la Cultura Cura?" which translates to "How is it that culture can heal?"; we will be "Exploring the role of traditional healing and culture on mental health and community well- being. An educational retreat". As first generation Chicanas we would love to attend this conference so that we can better serve our future clients. Thank you so much for helping us reach our goal!
