Brittany Love's Story
I’m fundraising for Zara’s Center because every child deserves safety, nourishment, opportunity, and a community that believes in their future. Being part of this mission reminds me that we’re all a part of a bigger picture, and I want to shine a light on the real, life-changing work happening at Zara’s.
Zara’s Center is a lifeline for vulnerable youth in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Founded in 2007 in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis, the center now provides daily support to over 130 children ages 5–18. Kids receive hot, nutritious meals, after-school tutoring, computer literacy training, access to healthcare, arts and recreation programs, and mental health support.
A few years ago, I had planned to run a half marathon—but life happened, and that goal fell to the side. Now, coming out of a mild hamstring tear, I can’t think of a better way to focus on healing and thriving than by setting my sights on a greater mission.
This mission, these kids, and their resilience have inspired me to lace my shoes back up and commit to crossing that finish line not just for me, but for them.
I’m fundraising because with more support, they can continue expanding their impact and giving even more children the future they deserve.
If you feel moved, I’d be grateful for your support.
Together, we can help these kids learn, grow, and build brighter futures, one step, one mile, and one child at a time.
