Welcome to the start of our K-9Lifesavers FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY!! campaign. This week, help lend a paw and stamp out Black Dog Syndrome! Did you know that black dogs have the lowest adoption rate and the highest euthanasia rate than any other color dog in the shelter? This Friday, let’s take a moment to celebrate and honor black dogs!

Kicking off our weekly Friday fundraiser campaign are a few of our black beauties, and we hope our caring family of supporters will help dispel the myths and support finding these great pups furever homes.

It may be hard to believe, but these wonderful pups - Phil, Pepper, Zelda, and Trixie - and many more black dogs in our care, are spending a much longer time waiting for a forever family than their furry friends with lighter coats. Whether it's due to superstition - much like black cats, how they've been portrayed in movies (this The Omen), or even that their photographs don't always do them justice, sometimes potential adopters bring a subconscious negative bias. And that's just a lose-lose for these wonderful dogs AND YOU!

Your tax free gift will help cover expenses (food, boarding, meds, etc.) and help the many black dogs in our care until their perfect new families find them and bring them home...and everyone wins!
