Winter is dangerous for our unsheltered neighbors, and we need your help.

We are a small Black-owned, grassroots organization dedicated to helping North Jersey’s most vulnerable populations, especially individuals 55+, veterans, and those transitioning out of the prison system. In 2025, we have ambitious plans to continue our housing projects, expand our outreach, and offer more direct services to those in need.

In Passaic and Essex Counties, over 1000 individuals are living unsheltered, at risk of exposure to deadly cold conditions according to Monarch Housing Associates. Homelessness in New Jersey has risen by 17% since last year, and with the winter season approaching, these individuals need immediate housing and support to survive.

At HS&H Outreach Services, we are launching a $400,000 fundraising campaign to provide emergency housing and outreach services throughout the winter and into 2025. Your donation will ensure that our most vulnerable neighbors—seniors, veterans, and re-entry individuals—receive the care they need before the cold becomes life-threatening.

What Your Donation Will Do:

Provide emergency housing: We’re able to secure temporary and permanent shelter for unsheltered individuals within as little as 36 hours, easing the strain on local shelters.
Expand outreach services: With your help, we can purchase an outreach van and secure the necessary storage space to distribute critical winter supplies like food and clothing.
Strengthen local partnerships: We are working with community organizations to ensure long-term support for the unsheltered populations across Passaic and Essex Counties.
