Each year the Mental Health Association of Alameda County serves nearly 25,000 people – individuals with serious mental illness or mental health conditions and their families.

In fiscal year 2023 – 2024 we supported individuals and families in the following ways.

Our Patients’ Rights program responded to over 13,000 calls
FERC responded to over 1000 warm line calls and served over 1250 caregivers
Our programs collectively provided over 200 hours of virtual support groups for family members and caregivers
Our programs provided nearly $55,000 in concrete support for our families in need inclusive of grocery support, furnishings, etc.

This year has also been a time of many achievements for the agency including an expansion of our Patients’ Rights Advocacy program in Alameda County, the addition of family navigation services for family members who have loved ones with mental health conditions and a history of incarceration at FERC, and the move of our administrative office from Oakland to Berkeley.

The majority of our funding comes from our county contracts, but there is always the need to do more for our clients and our communities. Your donation can assist us in providing the following support.

Offer additional support groups for family members caring for loved ones with a mental health condition
Provide additional funding to support family members in times of need including groceries, furnishings, and utility/rental assistance when needed
Expand outreach to underserved communities
Offer additional educational workshops on topics important to individuals with a mental health condition or their family members
Expand our advocacy efforts
