Vermont Avenue Garden Restoration

Help us expand the important neighborhood work of habitat restoration in the Vermont Avenue Garden and all along Vermont Avenue. Fall is prime time for planting! We're eager to build on what we've done so far and have an ambitious plan to plant a lot more native trees and shrubs. Some will be donated but there are many that we'll need to purchase. We also need to continue control measures of the invasive plants that had taken over this area -- and will be happy to do so again! We need to raise a total of $2562. Please consider making a donation! Some of the new plants will fortify and expand the new plantings closer to Park Street, but now we're beginning to push toward Valley Wood, where the need is also great. Come along with us! Anything you can give is helpful and most appreciated! Here are costs of specific items, if you want to sponsor a tree or shrub:

1 white oak and 1 willow oak $110 ea.

5 dogwoods $95 ea.

1 serviceberry $58

5 winterberry $35 ea.

4 Virginia sweetspire $60 ea.

2 southern bayberry $72 ea.
