During the COVID-19 pandemic, Carnaval San Francisco pivoted as an organization with the support of the Latino Task Force and gave birth to the Mission Food Hub at the historic Mission Language & Vocational School on 701 Alabama Street. We harnessed our dedicated Carnaval SF volunteers and expertise to pivot and grow from feeding 300 families per week in March of 2020 to feeding 7,000 families a week today. Our client profiles include families that are low income, suffer from food insecurity, are migrants and/or have limited language ability, and due to the economy have needs for housing or eviction relief, employment services, immigration services, cell phone, internet, clothing, shoes, and food.
