Welcome! Mutual Aim is an African and BIPOC-led nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing aid to war-torn countries and other underrepresented countries across the world. Their goal is to provide basic necessities like food, water, and shelter while working to create long-term, sustainable change through education, employment opportunities, and community building.
Your donation will go towards the following projects:
- Supporting grassroots organizations in places like Congo, Cameroon, and Tigray.
- The first phase of their transitional village in Chad.
- Humanitarian relief for families in Nigeria living below the poverty line.
Note: Your donations will also assist with organization administrative costs.
Brief highlights of some of Mutual Aim's current projects.
Congo
To date, we have successfully funded 30 small businesses for vendors situated in various displacement camps across the Congo. According to reports from our partners and our observations regarding the exchange rate between the United States dollar and the Congolese Franc, it generally costs between $50 to $200 to support a small business in Congo. Utilizing this information, through our Congolese partner, we have provided financial assistance to small vendors within the displacement camps.
Furthermore, we have facilitated the provision of breakfast for over 600 children residing in the Congolese displacement camps during the months of November and December 2024. Access to nutritious food is a fundamental requirement for all individuals, regardless of their location. The children of Africa embody the continent's future, and their well-being must be a priority. It is unacceptable for any child to experience hunger, nor should any child attend school without the essential nutrition that supports effective learning. Our commitment extends beyond merely providing food; we endeavor to offer meals that are both nourishing and fulfilling.
Sudan
For Sudan, we have partnered with organizations on the ground who were already doing the work. Following diligent research and a thorough vetting process, we partnered with Saving Al-Gineina, a Sudanese organization that specializes in bringing food to the displaced people of Sudan within the country and in Chad. They also provide medical support, prioritizing women and children.
We made a donation of $10,000 to their kitchen in Al Qadarif. Together, we have successfully fed over 31,000 people and counting within Sudan alone. Sudan is one of the many countries we hope will benefit from our project in Chad of bringing sustainable change to Western and Central Africa through the Mutual Aim Village (M.A.V. Chad.) With your support, that dream will become a reality.
Chad
M.A.V Chad is a transitional village that is projected to serve the displaced and refugee populations of Chad. A future project of the organization, this village will aim not only to bring immediate relief to our beneficiaries but also to create sustainable change for the Central African country and its people and those it continues to host. Mutual Aim is looking to build a transitional village in Chad to support underrepresented locals and people displaced into Chad from other countries. This village will seek to support these beneficiaries and encourage transition back into everyday society.
