After the hardship of catching up after more than two years of pandemic school closure, we are extremely proud to say that 2023 was a year of great successes for John Paul Secondary School. Because of your ongoing generosity, our teachers were able to spend countless additional hours preparing our students for their exams, which resulted in JPSS being ranked the #1 school in the district for UCE exam results! Our S6 students went on to take their final exams at JPSS and the results were our best yet; 24 of the 25 students tested well enough to attend a University program and one student, Anthony Ateese received a full college scholarship from the government (click on the image below to hear Anthony’s story). Several other students have gone on to University as well and we are so very proud of all of them!

For the young children of the area, attending JPSS is a dream they all share. They see their neighbors like Anthony attending, receiving the Hungerford Scholarship for tuition and ultimately testing well enough for a University scholarship. The demand continues to grow, and to meet it and make their dreams come true, we need to expand the campus.

We currently have over 500 boarding students in the girls and boys dorms meant for 320.

Our students are just leaving for the holiday break, but when they return in February, we expect even higher numbers. Without adding dorms and classrooms, we’ll need to turn away some of these eager students. Most immediately, we hope to raise enough funding to complete the construction of two 100 bed dorms, one for girls and one for boys. Each dorm costs approximately $100,000. It's a huge undertaking but with your help, anything is achievable! Please see more about our Master Plan to complete the proposed 1000 student JPSS campus.
