Hi, I'm Rachel.
If you know me, you probably know how much I care about Camp Shomria and Hashomer Hatzair US. My time in Hashomer as a child, shaped who I am today and continues to inspire the ways in which I move through the world. Camp Shomria was where I first made real friends and learned what it means to be part of a community. It's where I learned about progressive Judaism and the values of social justice, empathy, critical thinking, and care for the world around us. It’s also where I learned to ask questions, appreciate education, cherish nature, and strive to be a better person.
THIS is why I serve on the board and reach out to you year after year to support various Yom Mosh projects!
After this summer, we are so excited to break ground on our new swimming pool that will be built (thanks to a grant from NY State) by summer 2026. Since this will be a project that will last for at least 60 years (like the previous pool), we want to do it right! Build more than just the very basics! Let’s add lights so that we can have Schiyat Laila (Night Swim)!
I'm so excited to see this pool built and add as many upgrades as possible to last well into the future. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Pool Party Extravaganza, Summer 2026!
Thank you so much for your support!
