Good Day to all of you!   

Thanksgiving is here and I am so Thankful for a lot of people and things in my life, however, The Spencer Family YMCA is one place that my heart grows everyday!

I have been working for the Greater Pittsburgh Area YMCA for over 10 years and currently the Director of Healthy Living at The Spencer Family YMCA.  I love  everyday when I walk in here, that I am greeted by members and staff with the warmest smiles and kindest words!  We are are like family here.  The giving to each other is heartfelt and it shows!  From saying good morning to Dan that walks past the fitness floor, only to swim every morning, To Susan, that passes the fitness floor, to only take a group exercise class upstairs,  AND John ON the fitness floor that work out immensely for 2 hours.  These 3 are just a part of my family here at Spencer!  And, Jennie and Grant that bring soup and cookies to me and others when we are feeling under the weather.  It really is special here.

Between mashing potatoes  and gobbling down pie or ice cream (my favorite),  I am taking time to reflect on our incredible community and share my immense gratitude for everything our staff members and supporters like YOU do to keep the Spencer Family YMCA fulfilling our mission everyday.  

I am sure most of you do not know that we are non-profit organization, and we do NOT turn anyone down for what they would want to participate in, which includes, membership, swim lessons, summer camps for kids, and programs for children and adults.  Thanks to our annual campaign we are able to say YES to these people and support their wishes.  We could not do this without  the support of YOU.  These next few weeks I am running around like a turkey with my head cut off because GIVING Tuesday is our biggest fundraising day of the year, and it's Tuesday, November 28th!  Before we all go and spend wonderful family time together, I am hoping to get your attention and ask you a favor.  I would be incredibly thankful to have a few donations to start building momentum before then.

My goal is $500.  With your help, we will use these funds to provide memberships, swim lessons, kids going to summer camp and programming.  your donation will keep our programs growing for years to come.
