The Lord laid the Japanese people on Matt’s heart way back in 2012 and from then on the Lord has faithfully guided him on the path to Japan. In 2017, Matt was able to serve in Japan for 6 months and it was a truly life changing experience where the Lord grew Matt’s love for the Japanese exponentially. After returning to the states, he began his journey at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in order to return and serve the Japanese people and the struggling local church there. Elizabeth felt the call to reach the nations in 2011. She had the opportunity to do ministry work in Haiti and Costa Rica, but did not yet have a specific people group she felt called to. Along the way, Matt and Elizabeth met one another and the Lord brought them together in marriage in 2019.  Matt and Elizabeth began praying about future mission’s work together, God began to slowly put the love of the Japanese people on her heart. In 2024, Matt and Elizabeth spent a month in Japan experiencing local ministry and the culture together. The Lord used this short trip to grow their love for the Japanese people, showed them the desperate need for the Gospel in Japan, and gave them a path towards serving the Japanese people with the love, peace, and hope in Jesus Christ.
