Youngstown Art and Cultural Center – About

  • “Real Free” Community Art Classes
Join us in celebrating creativity and community at the DNDA’s Youngstown Art and Cultural Center! We're thrilled to offer donation based art classes to individuals of all ages and backgrounds in the West Seattle community. We invite local teaching artists to share their skills and offer the opportunity for folks to practice new creative skills.
  • Empowering Creativity: Our mission is to make art accessible to everyone, fostering self-expression and connection within our community. Our curriculum is designed to bring people together while also learning something new. Our programs aim to increase artistic skill, foster positive identity, increase social competence, and advance environmental awareness.
  • Expanding Impact: With your support, we aim to expand our weekly classes to be able to offer workshops, weekly classes, and artist talks throughout the whole year. Your contribution will help compensate our talented teaching artists and provide essential art supplies.
  • Creating Change: Art has the power to transform lives and build stronger communities. By investing in our free community classes, you're investing in the future of Youngstown and Seattle as a whole.
  • Get Involved: Join us in our mission to support the arts and empower creativity in our vibrant community. Together, we can paint a brighter future and make a difference through the power of art. Thank you for considering supporting the Youngstown Art and Cultural Center art programs.

DNDA’s Art Programs Statement:

Our yearly art program offers a unique interdisciplinary blend of arts, environmental education and recreational activities for youth and adults in King County. Our classes foster discovery and creativity while connecting participants with the natural world and their communities. We approach arts education, arts experiences, and recreation programming from an environmental perspective.

Our unique model for arts-based environmental education and engagement takes place both indoors and outdoors. Lessons are inspired by, made from, and/or created in nature.
