PKS Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by Pallister-Killian Syndrome (PKS), an ultra-rare genetic disorder impacting fewer than 1,000 people worldwide. Through education, advocacy, and research funding, we work to advance understanding and treatment of PKS.

Our signature program is the PKS Kids Biennial Family Conference, which unites families and leading medical professionals from institutions such as the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Cohen Children’s Medical Center, and the University of Texas Southwestern. The conference facilitates collaboration between researchers and families, provides opportunities for clinical evaluations and data collection, and fosters a supportive community grounded in science, wellness, and hope. Additionally, funds raised help PKS Kids promote awareness of Pallister-Killian Syndrome AND help affiliated doctors with their PKS research goals.

2026 is the 20th ANNIVERSARY OF PKS KIDS and we have come a long, long way. 12-04 has been Pallister Killian Syndrome Awareness Day since 2010 and was chosen because the syndrome is characterized by 4 copies of the short arm of chromosome 12. 12-04 has been recognized by several states as PKS Awareness Day and we are committed to making sure this awareness and fundraising campaign continues to provide hope and help for those touched by Pallister-Killian Syndrome.
