My name is Yael Shimon, and for my Bat Mitzvah project I have chosen to support the Lone Soldier Center in Memory of Michael Levin.

Lone Soldiers come from more than 60 countries to volunteer in the Israel Defense Forces. What unites them is a sense of purpose that cannot be taught: a deep commitment to Israel, to democratic freedom, to Jewish peoplehood, and to something far greater than themselves.

That commitment comes with real sacrifice.

The Lone Soldier Center ensures that the more than 7,000 Lone Soldiers never feel alone. The Center provides subsidized housing, personal guidance, and emotional, financial, and social support every step of the way, before, during, and after their service. Their goal is to give each Lone Soldier the warmth, stability, and resources they need while they protect us.

As I celebrate my Bat Mitzvah, I invite you to join me in supporting these incredible young men and women. Together, we can bring light, healing, and hope to those who safeguard Israel every day.
