In fall of 2019 I graduated from a residential treatment facility in Charlotte. Leaving there was the beginning of a new chapter and with a 9 month old baby who saved my life. Genesis and I needed somewhere safe to go where I could transition back into the “real world”. I also needed stability, accountability, structure, and community. God opened a door for us at Safe Harbor and we received that and more! I worked with Sheree as my case manager who I will forever be grateful to have known, I met my mentor/safe friend Crystal Cook who is now like family, I made relationships with other women and staff who helped me along my journey. I became employable and was able to save money to get an apartment where we lived for almost 4 years. As of 6 months ago thanks be to God and Habitat I am now a homeowner. If it weren’t for Safe Harbor I would not be where I am today. God is still in the miracle working business. Lives are and can forever be changed through this ministry, because of Safe Harbor I am able to be the Mom I am today to my beautiful 6 year old.
