This Giving Season, help young people discover what’s possible.

A child’s zip code should never determine how far their curiosity can take them. Yet for too many Bay Area kids, access to hands-on STEAM learning, mentors, and career opportunities remains out of reach.

Young STEAMers is changing that. We provide free STEAM enrichment to low-income Bay Area children ages 4–14 and real-world STEM career guidance to youth ages 14–24. Our programs spark curiosity, build confidence, and open doors to new possibilities.

We also invest in young people as leaders. College students are hired as paid instructors, while high school students are trained as classroom aides, creating meaningful work opportunities and bringing relatable role models into the classroom. When a student sees someone like herself find a path into STEM, she’s not just learning science. She’s discovering what might be possible for her, too.

Since 2022, Young STEAMers has: served 7,990 students, delivered 1,396 lessons across 48 locations, and trained 64 instructors. Our 96% partner retention rate reflects the value schools and community organizations see in our programs. And students are telling us the difference these experiences make: 85% find our enrichment engaging and feel comfortable asking questions, 68% report greater understanding of STEM careers, and 50% report greater confidence that science is for them.

Your gift opens doors

Every contribution helps a young person explore their interests, build confidence, and imagine a future they may never have considered. Here’s what your generosity can make possible:

$25 gives one child the materials to explore, experiment, and discover through STEAM enrichment.

$100 gives one child two months of hands-on STEAM learning, with engaging projects and discoveries.

$500 equips a full class for two months of hands-on engineering challenges and science experiments.

$2,000 opens two months of weekly STEAM learning for an entire class, with hands-on instruction and materials.

Your gift also supports paid opportunities for young instructors, Family STEAM Events that bring families into the learning experience, and Career Compass panels that connect youth with STEM professionals and career pathways they might never otherwise encounter.

Talent exists everywhere. Opportunity doesn’t, not yet.

Today, you can help close that gap.

Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.
