Youth Piano Masterclass with Gwendolyn Mok

Saturday, November 12th, 2022 @ 11:00 am at Shepard Hall in the Santa Maria Public Library

Experience the intense interactions between student and teacher when three young local pianists perform and receive lessons from Master Teacher Dr. Gwendolyn Mok.

Dr. Mok will then perform a recital herself. The students are some of the top, award winning young pianists in the area. Dr Gwendolyn Mok studied in Paris with Perlemutter, a student of Ravel and is known for her extraordinary recordings performed on Ravel’s beloved piano. She attended Julliard, earned a B.A. from Yale and a MM and DMA from SUNY at Stony Brook, where she studied with Gilbert Kalish. She is currently head of the piano area at San Jose State University.

This concert is free to the public, donations are accepted.

This FREE Library Series performance takes place Sunday, October 23rd, 2022 @ 3:00 pm at Shepard Hall in the Santa Maria Public Library.
