Our Bhakta Bandhav NY Ashram Temple has come a long way. With the help of devotee volunteers, the temple building was completely transformed from a dilapidated barn into a beautiful Mandir where our Sri Sri Radha Raman Deities are now residing and where we often host free Bhakti festivals and events.

However, we now face a pressing issue—leaks inside the temple. Upon inspection, we discovered that the previous property owners neglected to install tar paper under the shingles on the roof, leaving our temple vulnerable to water and humidity entering the building, especially in the winter, with the extreme heat disparity inside and outside in our climate zone. The building was not heated in the winter before, so the issue was not as conspicuous.

To address this, we need to repair the roof swiftly and would be very grateful for any of your help. Please consider making a contribution and sharing our plea with friends or family. We plan to remove the old shingles, replace any damaged plywood, add the underlayment, and a ridge cap for proper ventilation, and install new architectural shingles, which have a lifespan of over 30 years, vs. the 15-year average for regular shingles.

Contractors from ErieHome quoted us 30,000$ for the job and we have already spent 1200$ on the issue. Since we will buy the materials ourselves and will be doing a lot of work with our monks and volunteers, we expect the cost of the job to be closer to 11,000$, which is the amount of our fundraiser.
