This is a Scholarship Fundraising campaign. Due to the generosity of the POISE FOUNDATION, Zita's Healthy Beginnings was able to offer our first full scholarships to Black women choosing to study to become Birth Doulas. This is a critical need as the Maternal and Infant Mortality Rates are high in the Black community, and by having Mothers partnered with Doulas from Perinatal through Pregnancay, Pregnancy through Birthing, and Birthing through Postpartum it lowers the risks of health complications being missed during any phase of the pregnancy and post birth.
