Mission & Vision

Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County’s mission is to dismantle anti-black systems, policies, and outcomes that lead to the oppression, torture, and death of black and brown people.

Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County is a grassroots social justice cooperative. We focus on empowering and liberating Black and other marginalized people through advocacy, education, community programs, direct action, and healing. Our Leadership centers Black women and other multi-marginalized people.

Theory of Change: 

Suppose we educate, empower, and heal Black and Brown people in our communities. In that case, we will continue the work of liberating our people so they are able to dismantle anti-Black systems, policies, and outcomes. Because Black Liberation is fundamentally tied to collective liberation.
