Help Sick Kittens and Cats Get the Medical Care They Need

Over the last month, our Animal Response Team (ART) has trapped, neutered, and returned dozens of adult cats in our community and taken in 14 kittens for medical care and adoption. Although ART involvement usually begins with a call for a single sick cat or kitten—it usually ends up involving many, many more.

Most recently a call for “one sick kitten” on Arlington Avenue turned into 6 cats and 4 kittens—all of whom were eventually trapped by the ART, but not without drama. Kitten one we got very quickly—and he had to have an infected eye removed. Kittens 2 and 3 needed care because they were underweight. All 6 adults were trapped over the course of a few days and were spayed/neutered and released.

But kitten number 4, Ona, went missing after the initial call for help. By the time we found her she was suffering from severe flea anemia and an extremely low body temperature and needed emergency overnight veterinary care, and a blood transfusion. We believe she’s going to make it, but her emergency care has already cost thousands.

We’re sharing this to ask for your help in raising $4,000 towards medical expenses for these cats and kittens.
