Empower the future of STEM! Your donation opens doors for minoritized students to pursue higher education and become the next generation of science leaders. Cientifico Latino believes in the transparency of your donations, our current focus for this campaign is on sustainability of our organization and spreading awareness. To expand our national programming, your support is crucial to make a lasting difference:
1. Nonprofit expenses
Cientifico Latino, Inc. was incorporated in December 2023, as a new 501(c)3 nonprofit, there are critical expenses that we need to cover to run our programming effectively which include accounting, insurance, law firm costs, salary for team members, and administrative costs. These are important expenses to ensure the sustainability of our nonprofit so we can work on our mission for the long-term.
2. Expanding our reach
Since 2017, Científico Latino, Inc. has generated a large amount of resources and launched three national programs to support aspiring STEM professionals and thus far we have helped over 750 students access, navigate and receive professional development in higher education in the sciences. In order to expand our reach to students at Minority-Serving Institutions, we need to start going to national conferences and visiting colleges to inform students of our resources and national programs. In the short-term, your donation will help us cover conference expenses so our team can connect with minoritized communities. Over the next year, we want to start visiting as many colleges to have open-houses so college students can learn about how to prepare for a career in sciences and the resources we offer.
