In the United States, there is a critical gap in residential care services for children under 10 and adolescent boys who have endured commercial sexual exploitation. Most facilities are designed primarily for adolescent girls, leaving these vulnerable children with few options for the specialized, long-term care they desperately need. Too often, they are placed in foster care or other systems that are often overwhelmed and not equipped to address their deep trauma. This absence of dedicated care highlights the urgent need for safe, therapeutic environments created specifically for their healing and recovery.
Cedar Refuge is answering that call. We are creating a place where hope is restored—where children can heal, rebuild their lives, and step into a brighter future.
While we raise funds for our facility, our vision remains clear: to provide a residential safe refuge for long-term healing, restoration, and renewed hope. Through trauma informed therapy and therapeutic programs, education, and life skills training, we will empower children to reclaim their childhood and discover their potential. Our approach embraces the healing power of nature—offering opportunities for outdoor exploration, animal care, and agricultural activities that foster growth, resilience, and connection.
At Cedar Refuge, we are committed to creating more than a program—we are building a refuge where children can truly be kids again and begin their journey toward wholeness.
