Story
This is Nile Egypt. She is a senior chihuahua-mix who was surrendered due to extremely high anxiety, causing her to literally scream.
It was immediately clear that she had not been taken to the vet for her teeth and she had an infection you could smell right away. She was brought to the emergency vet the night we picked her up as she was in severe discomfort.
Between the emergency vet bills, blood work, the infection, and now the pending dental extractions (which the vet said would be just about all of her remaining teeth), we are looking at significant bills.
Although Nile is a senior, she still has lots of life left to live! She just wants to be relieved of her dental pain, which makes up a part of her anxiety. The other part comes from being blind in one eye and having an almost fully developed cataract in the other. Being nearly blind, she becomes fearful if she doesn't see her "human." Ideally, we would be able to afford cataract removal surgery, but we were quoted at over $3,500 per eye.
We are, at the moment, more concerned with relieving her dental pain. Please help us help Nile!
