The Walk to End Elder Isolation began in 2016 as a way to both raise funds for Friendship Works and raise awareness of the work that Friendship Works has been doing to enhance the quality of life of older adults in our community. Please join Queer Scout Boston in fundraising for this event and walking with us on May 19th at Jamaica Pond! https://secure.qgiv.com/event/elderbration2024/team/949235 Event Details 9 am - Registration opens 9-10am - breakfast served 9:30 am - Welcome from Executive Director 10:15 am - 5k walk begins After the walk, there will be ice cream, snacks, photo booth, multicultural music, dancing, raffle prizes and more. The walk around Jamaica Pond is 1.9 miles. You can choose to walk twice, or just walk to the boathouse to join the walkers (0.4 miles round trip). Dogs are welcome (and encouraged!, but please make sure they are leashed. Registration is FREE but we hope that every participant will support this community fundraising event by making a personal donation. The live Elderbration & Walk to End Elder Isolation will start and finish at Rogerson House, 434 Jamaicaway, Jamaica Plain. For GPS purposes, put in 31 Beaufort Road.
