A note from Stay-Focused founder, Roger Muller:

For my birthday on January 24th, I am excited to launch a birthday fundraiser in support of Stay-Focused. 2026 is year 23 for us and it has been an incredible journey. From certifying in diving our first two teens with disabilities in March of 2004 to now having certified 168 teens and young adults, our success has been immensely gratifying.

I have dual nationality with Switzerland and have spent a lot of time there both in the mountains and in Geneva. I worked as a waiter in a wonderful restaurant in the Swiss Alps after graduate school and loved the experience. Geneva will always be a special place for me, as I have fond memories of being there when I was young and it is my “happy” place.

I was in Geneva in May of last year when the Geneva Marathon was taking place and immediately decided I wanted to be part of it. I ran the NYC Marathon in 2024 to raise funds for Stay-Focused at the age of 75 and I decided it would indeed be my “last run around the five boroughs.” But that did not mean a Half Marathon, especially in Geneva, wasn’t a possibility. So, I am looking forward to running the Geneva Half Marathon on May 10th with a goal of raising $25,000 for our programs.

I will welcome donations of any amount to help me reach my goal. I honestly cannot think of a better way to celebrate turning 77 and will be immensely grateful for your support.
