“The Center for Health and Learning’s suicide prevention program is critically important work. It absolutely saves lives!” shares Brattleboro Union High School (BUHS) Social Worker Linda Heimerdinger, LICSW.

Linda has been participating in CHL trainings since 2009. She was so transformed by our trainings that she got the school’s entire team - school secretary, janitors, teachers – everyone to also be trained on the essential tools to prevent suicide as well as know the steps to take if they do tragically lose a student to suicide.

Because of our training and support from the CHL staff, the high school administration created a protocol and crisis team for when a student is struggling. They are able to recognize the signs and risk factors – and they know how to get help.
