Since 2011, Pink Money Inc. has been a sanctuary where women could invest in themselves, support one another, build wealth, and shape a future on their own terms. So when four women came together to create a community-driven coworking space in the heart of South LA, it felt like perfect timing. On International Women’s Day, March 8, 2020, we launched with the belief that we weren’t just building a business—we were igniting a movement. We poured everything we had into opening our doors, knowing that the work we were doing would change lives.

But just three days later, everything came to a halt. The world shut down, and we lost it all.

The pandemic wasn’t just a global crisis—it was a collective trauma. It upended everything, leaving many of us navigating grief, uncertainty, and an overwhelming sense of loss. For entrepreneurs, especially women of color, the impact was profound. Businesses closed, funding dried up, and dreams shattered overnight.

Like so many others, we felt the weight of it all. The heartbreak. The exhaustion. The PTSD that lingers long after the crisis fades. The fear of rebuilding—knowing how quickly everything can slip away. But if there’s one thing that women—especially women of color—know how to do, it’s rise.
