At SMILES, every program horse is more than a partner, they are a healer, a teacher, and a friend. They carry riders who are building strength, confidence, and independence. They help participants find their voice, take their first steps toward new goals, and experience the joy of a bond between human and equine.

This year, our herd has worked harder than ever serving children and adults with disabilities and as our program grew, so did our need for more horses. We take pride in our herd of varying breeds and sizes that help support a wide range of needs. We are in search of bringing on a new horse to help with the clientele our current horses are serving. Adding more horses to the herd, allows for more longevity in the program for each horse focusing on each of their workloads.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your help to bring a new program horse to SMILES.
